Adaption of Society 5.0 and its Development - Liew Yen Thung
In order to adapt Society 5.0 and its development, the Japanese government planned a few ways to accommodate the education sector. Hayashi, Japan’s former Minister of Education said that it is a must to emphasize human skills such as communication, leadership, curiosity, endurance, comprehension, and reading skills. These skills are considered essential to approach Society 5.0 (Hamilton, 2020). Besides that, they aimed to remove the traditional divisions between hard sciences with math and humanities with social sciences. This is because they wanted to build students who are well-rounded through the new division of subjects (Society 5.0, n.d.). Therefore, it shows that underlining strong human skills and integration of subjects play an important role in getting close to Society 5.0.
In my point of view, adapting Society 5.0 can help us in developing important entrepreneurial skills. One of the skills is digital literacy skills. It is an ability to find, evaluate, and communicate information by using information and communication technologies (Welcome to ALA's Literacy Clearinghouse, n.d.). This skill does improve employability as most companies will hire an employee who knows how to use digital tools and can quickly adapt to the technological advancements in the workplace.
