ADAPTATION SOCIETY 5.0 AND ITS DEVELOPMENT - LEE YANG QING (TP071206)

How to adapt the Society 5.0 and its development, include learning and developing some essential entrepreneurial skills?

Society 5.0 is a human-centred society that is compatible with economic development and the resolution of social issues via a highly integrated system of cyberspace and physical space. This is a society that is sustainable and resilient against threats and unpredictable and uncertain situations, that ensures the safety and security of the people, and that individuals realize diverse well-being (Society 5.0, n.d.).

In order to adapt Society 5.0 and its development, Japan prepares its students well in advance. Based on Foreign Policy Magazine, in 2017, the Ministry of Education in Japan established a committee on this issue which includes specialists in Artificial Intelligence. They reached an overall conclusion which is to focus on human strengths to adapt to the change (Davidvarndell, 2020). Thus, people should have a further understanding of this society 5.0 initially and then only identify what are the strengths that we need to enhance so that we can embrace this society 5.0. One of the most important skills that AI may need a century to learn is human creativity and innovation skills. People have to think out of the box to challenge conventions and embrace the environment. By doing this, AI's creative abilities certainly can't keep up with humans.

Apart from that, to develop essential entrepreneurial skills within Society 5.0, individuals should emphasize human-centric technology. For example, they should identify opportunities for sectors like healthcare and education and master the technological competencies in areas such as AI and IoT. Problem-solving skills, collaborating skills and networking skills are a must for people to cultivate continuously so that they will not left behind in society 5.0. People should think agile and acquire system thinking to stand by face challenges and adapt to society(Tavares et al., 2022).

In a nutshell, the only skill that human beings should implement right away is to keep learning and progressing. Only then can people keep up with the times and stand firm in society.
