SOCIETY 5.0 AND ITS DEVELOPMENT - WEEK 3 (PUTERI HANNAH)

Society 5.0, which was first proposed in the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan by the Japanese government, refers to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) actively in the human world and the return of humanity to the centre of the world. Society 5.0 seeks to achieve economic growth while overcoming social and environmental challenges, contributing to the welfare of the global community (Alimohammadlou & Khoshsepehr, 2023). 

It is important to adapt Society 5.0 in the community to shape an ideal form of the future society. One of the ways to adapt it is by staying informed and updated with the latest technology and developments that are happening worldwide. This can be done by reading articles and papers by trustable sources, attending conferences and participating in online forums to constantly stay updated. 

When it comes to businesses, entrepreneurs should be open in adapting automation, robotics, big data analytics, AI and smart systems in their businesses to go beyond efficiency and productivity and reinforce the goal to contribute to society. Society 5.0 shifts from focusing on economic value to focusing on societal value and from welfare to wellbeing. Society 5.0 complements the Industry 4.0 approach by “specifically putting research and innovation at the service of the transition to a sustainable, human-centric and resilient European industry” (Kraaijenbrink, 2024). 

Learning and developing some essential entrepreneurship skills can be done by signing up for online courses such as on Coursera and Skillshare, attending virtual incubators and accelerators for aspiring entrepreneurs and using AI-powered learning tools. 

In conclusion, adapting to Society 5.0 is a process that takes a long time and requires a multifaceted approach to be adapted well in society. Embrace continuous learning, leverage your strengths, and actively contribute to shaping the future of Society 5.0.
